EXECUTIVE PROFESSIONAL
The Executive Professional programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of senior managers, executives and functional or operational leaders who wish to develop their expertise and strengthen their managerial skills in project management.
The modular format of our programs enables you to study and follow the program without compromising your professional duties and activities. The programs are run in English only, at a flexible pace over the program’s study period. Coaching and Mentoring take place during the duration of the program with our subject matter expert, and students can enrol for coaching and mentoring after graduating. Face-to-face will be more expensive, and we will communicate the timelines in advance. To complete our programs, all students must develop a Portfolio of Evidence of their learnings produced over the study period. In addition, writing a professional thesis or report(s) forms an integral part of each program.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Admission requirements for Executive Education:
- Any recognized post-graduate Degree or its equivalent. OR Executive Education – Diploma.
- Completed previous education in an English medium.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the field of the PROFESSIONAL / EXPERT specialization.
- Education qualification documents.
- One passport-size photo.
- Passport copy / national ID card certified / notarized.

- Statement of intent for the study.
- All non-English documents must have a certified and evaluated English translation attached to the application.
NOTE:
- Our PCiBS English teacher will teach you English in our live online Learning Management System (LMS) while studying at PCiBS. If you use our English teacher, no TOEFL / IELTS or equivalent scores are needed. English enrollment is required at the same time.

This course deals with the basic principles of project management and introduces the students to the project management discipline. It focuses on the basic requirements of setting up projects. It focuses on managing portfolios, a program and multiple projects for project management companies. The course follows a structured manner and allows students to develop their competencies for the specific discipline in question. The main aim of the course in to demonstrate proficiency in this discipline to ensure that the student can be a valuable asset to any project that they are involved with.
The course Introduces Project management concepts; needs identification; the project life cycles; the project manager and the project team; types of project organisations; project communication and document control. Estimating, Costing and Planning and control: planning, scheduling and schedule control of projects; resource considerations and allocations; cost planning and performance evaluation. It focuses on Risks, procurement, human resources, quality, communication, stakeholders and integration management.
MGT-530 Project Planning Management & Control
This course discusses advanced principles of scheduling and focuses on the planning discipline, especially around managing portfolios, a program and multiple projects. The course follows a structured manner and allows students to develop their competencies for the specific discipline in question.
The main aim of the course in to demonstrate proficiency in this discipline to ensure that the student can be an asset to any portfolio, program and multiple projects that they are involved with. It focuses on the advanced requirements of analyzing and setting up advanced schedules for large projects in various life cycles.
This course develops schedule development and management; tools and techniques and outputs and deliverables. It ensures that a structured logical process is followed to develop a schedule. It discusses a wide variety of issues that the planning discipline must take ownership of and incorporate into the schedules for portfolios, a program and multiple projects.
Proper alignment of all the various breakdown structures and their incorporation into the budgeting process of portfolios, a program and multiple projects. Develop an advanced responsibility matrix; incorporate the risk register and all control accounts into the schedule. Formulate a standard methods to create schedules; maintain schedules; manage reports and outputs for portfolios, programs and multiple projects. Accept and manage the contingencies of portfolios, a program and multiple projects. Perform a QRA schedule development and incorporate all relevant issues. Discuss the pro’s and con’s of earned value reporting and how to manage it at the correct levels. Monitoring and control of the portfolios, a program and multiple projects schedules. Stakeholder management and change management for portfolios, a program and multiple projects.
Finally, we will discuss the various ways to demonstrate the impacts projects have within each other in the management of portfolios, a program and multiple projects.
MGT-532 Project Cost Management & Control
This course deals with the core principles of costing and focuses the students into more depth around the costing discipline, especially around managing portfolios, a program and multiple projects. The course follows a structured manner and allows students to develop their competencies for the specific discipline in question.
The main aim of the course in to demonstrate proficiency in this discipline to ensure that the student can be a valuable asset to any portfolio, program and multiple projects that they are involved with. It focuses on the advanced requirements of analyzing and setting up advanced control accounts and budgets for large projects in various life-cycles.
This course develops cost development and management; tools and techniques and outputs and deliverables. In this course we also expand on the learnings from other project assignments and apply the principles of that course in the course assignments. This course includes some assignments that form part of a Research Project that must be presented during this programme.
MGT-548 Project Communication; Stakeholder and Integration Management
This course discusses methods and processes used in stakeholder analysis around managing portfolios, a program and multiple projects. Items that are addressed are: environments, categorization; internal and external factors; inter-relationships; roles and responsibilities and the influences of stakeholders.
Team selection, team development and conflict within the project environment are also discussed. This course provides additional methods for analysis of stakeholder communication, project management information system, the project life cycle, project integration management, monitoring and change control, and the project review and completion.
This course investigates project communications management around managing portfolios, a program and multiple projects, including issues relating to the various phases throughout their life cycles. It will assist to identify a project management information system (PMIS) and analyze the project success criteria.
The importance of project integration management, the processes that guide the project plan setup and the strategic plan of a project.

We focus on change management and the role of the project controls manager; the portfolio / program / project manager, project controls team and other project team members; the role of project controls. Controlling performance measurement in respect to change management on projects with project controls.
The use of planning, costing, estimating, administration and document control to manage change control at portfolio, program and projects level. The various processes and methods of monitoring and controlling changes at portfolio, program and project level. Contracting, managing claims and disputes through project-based change management. Change control and its importance will be discussed, plus managing change and controlling change at project level through the project monitoring and control activities. The importance of documentation in change management of projects and contracts.
MGT-544 Project Scope; Schedule; Cost & Resource Management
This course discusses project scope and the management of scope, schedule, cost and resource management in controlling portfolios, a program and multiple projects. It will incorporate a combined scope to address work breakdown structures, the goals and objectives, constraints, the operational concept, budget and time, and who has the management authority around managing portfolios, a program and multiple projects. It also elaborates on project time and cost management including issues relating to the project life cycle and all its phases. It incorporates time definition and estimating plus discuss the various networks that are available. The project strategy and the projects associated cost management is addressed from a planning, estimating and control point of view. An in-depth discussion about earned value management (EVM) with samples of project control with EVM.
MGT-546 Project Quality; Risk and Procurement Management
This course discusses various methods of analysis of project risk, quality, procurement management and the project review and completion around managing portfolios, a program and multiple projects. This course discusses all project risk elements, such as: environment, planning, identification, analysis, evaluation, treatment, monitoring and review of associated risks.
Furthermore, it discusses the following project procurement elements, namely: planning, strategies, legal issues, solicitation, monitoring and control, including project review and completion. This course builds on various methods and analysis of project quality management around managing portfolios, a program and multiple projects. It will address the project quality context, quality planning, quality assurance and quality improvement, plus the quality development during the project lifecycle and total quality management (TQM).
MGT-550 Project Contractual & Legal Matters
This course discusses an in-depth principle of the legal issues within the context of a project and its contracts, using the standard principles of law of contract. It discusses the legal nature of individuals and organizations. Utilizing the law to ensure that projects have the correct contracting principles imbedded in the organization. Law of sales, credit agreements, lease.
This course also focusses on the management of project-related contracts and looks at the consumer laws. The legal issues involved with tendering and the enquiry period; formation of contracts; management of contracts; contractual disputes and the resolution; conflict and aggression; disputes and the final arbitration or mediation process. Identify the pit falls of project contracting and mitigating claims. In addition, the course discusses the law of torts (negligence, breach of contract) and property, such as: Intellectual property, copyright, patents and trademarks. Various methods of contracting and the risks attached to each method are also investigated.

This course analyzes diverse sectors of project management leadership, the team’s performance, the team activity, and range of organizational behaviors; groups and teams effectiveness and various topics related to project teams. Project teams comprise of various job sectors, job descriptions and divisions in organizations.
This course explores the roles of project team members from project initiation to completion (cradle to grave). An overview of leadership on teams (groups); organizational team leadership is provided in organizational structures whilst managing culture differences. The course also addresses team conflict; motivation; performance; managing individual and team behavior, plus the management of company strategies. We also discuss the manager as a person; leadership making decisions and organizational structures and their performance and effectiveness.
MGT-538 Project Programme & Portfolio Management
This course discusses principles of project management and introduces the students to the project management discipline. It focuses on the requirements of setting up projects. The course builds on the use of project management and how portfolios, a program and multiple projects benefit from this type of management style. It discusses concepts; life cycles; project teams; communication and document control. It covers estimating, Costing and Planning and control thereof and focuses on risks, procurement, human resources, quality, communication, stakeholders and integration management.
MGT-540 Property Development
In this course we discuss and research advanced principles of property development. The aims of this course are to develop an in depth understanding of the principles used to develop a high residential area, old age homes, retirement centers, storage areas, parking garages to name a few. It covers the relevant statutes and ordinances required for these types of developments.
The course covers investigating financing methods and the risk involved in various financing methods. We utilize various models to assist in the decision-making process of property development.
Students are required to develop a property development program with all the applications and approvals and submit a detailed construction plan as part of a property development business plan. Investigations into specific market research to enhance the promotion and selling of the selected property development must be performed.
We look at the legal aspects of contracts and tax implications of property development. Importantly, we focus on sustainable and environmental development around property development.
MGT-556 Strategic Management
This course enables you to gain a detailed knowledge of strategic management. The course covers the concept of strategy and strategic management. It also discusses internal and external strategy and the application of strategy solutions to all aspects of business.
Strategic management forms part of the business, corporate and international environment, where the strategy is about competing now and in the future of any organization. We focus on understanding the dynamics of competition; changing industry factors; ethics and governance and the strategic positioning of companies.
Develop an understanding of strategy formulation, how to gain the competitive advantage in the marketplace and using thought leadership and thinking strategically. We discuss the planning and management of a phase of the strategic management plan. The course addresses these different phases and how to respond to them in the course. Current leadership and management must be creative and innovative to stay ahead of the pack. Corporations and companies need competent and skilled individuals to manage strategically.
This course discusses your current knowledge of strategic issues and problems facing global organisations. The useful strategic skills this course will provide, can be applied within any organization.

A personal competency assessment will be performed on each student during the first few weeks of the program.
A feedback report with the various competencies is issued to assist the students in identifying their own strengths and development potential. Here is a list of some of the items: Behavioural Styles; Abilities and Skills; Emotional Intelligence; and Growth Potential.

Development Report
The development report outlines what actions could be considered to improve behavioural competence and what candidates might want to develop further. The appropriateness of each piece of advice will differ for each individual and will to some extent depend on your job and the opportunities and resources available. We assist each candidate through this process.
It is recommended that you initially look at both your personal strengths and development areas as part of your personal development strategy. In some cases, there might be no strengths or developmental behaviours identified. Then you could identify the behaviours that would be to the greatest benefit to your development in your current work context.
Competencies
Students will identify their competencies with our Individual Development Planning (IDP) tool.
These competencies will be peer reviewed by a subject matter expert.
Competencies are also identified, allocated and updated (3 times) ongoing over the duration of the program.
